Modular system architecture: ST Hotkey Trader™ consists of three primary components: the Sender Application, the Connection Manager, and the ST Hotkey Trader™ Study for Sierra Chart. This configuration enables low-latency trade execution through keyboard input, bypassing the need for traditional graphical interfaces.
Supports individual instruments and multi-symbol baskets: The system accommodates both single-instrument trading and portfolio-level strategies involving baskets of instruments. It is compatible with all major asset classes, including futures, equities, forex, options, and digital assets.
Platform integration: ST Hotkey Trader™ is intended to function alongside Sierra Chart. It allows users to execute bracket orders, close positions, and switch symbols or accounts using keystrokes, without interacting with menus or graphical elements.
Hardware compatibility: The system can be used with programmable input devices such as the X-Keys® series by P.I. Engineering. These devices support user-defined layouts tailored to individual trading workflows. Users can fully customize their keyboard trading setup—from the most basic configuration with a single buy and sell key (as shown) to complex control panels using 128-key X-Keys devices. This flexibility enables users to manage multiple markets and Sierra Chart instances across different machines, adapting the layout to match both simple and advanced trading environments.
Scalable deployment: ST Hotkey Trader™ can operate in both single-machine and distributed configurations. The Connection Manager may be hosted on a local PC or remote system (Windows or Linux VPS), enabling a single sender to manage multiple Sierra Chart instances. This is suitable for complex setups and institutional use cases.
Intended for professional use: The software is purpose-built for users who require consistent, efficient, and direct trade execution without reliance on dashboards or graphical controls.
System Requirements
ST Hotkey Trader™ is a Windows application designed to accommodate various trading environments, offering both standalone and networked installation options.
In a standard local installation, all three components - the ST Hotkey Trader™ Sender Application, Connection Manager, and the Receiver Study for Sierra Chart - are installed on a single Windows PC. Systems capable of running Sierra Chart can also support ST Hotkey Trader™ without significant additional resource requirements.
For distributed environments, network installations are supported. In this configuration, the Connection Manager may operate locally or on a remote server, including Windows or Linux-based VPS setups. Both the Sender and Connection Manager require minimal system resources.
The architecture supports centralized management. A single ST Hotkey Trader™ Sender instance can coordinate with multiple Sierra Chart installations, enabling efficient control of several accounts or trading setups from a single interface.
ST Hotkey Trader™ is built to integrate into a variety of operational environments, whether on a local machine, within a private trading network, or across geographically distributed infrastructure.
