Can I use an Elgato Stream Deck?
The Elgato Stream Deck is currently untested with ST Hotkey Trader™. While technically it may be configured using third-party tools, we do not guarantee compatibility or offer support for this device.

No coding is required. However, you will need to edit a simple configuration file to define hotkeys and assign actions. Comprehensive documentation and responsive support are provided to help tailor the setup to your workflow.
Can I use it across multiple charts, symbols, or accounts?
Yes. ST Hotkey Trader™ supports use across multiple symbols, charts, and accounts — depending on how your Sierra Chart environment is configured.
Is it safe for live trading?
Yes. ST Hotkey Trader™ is built for use in live trading environments. That said, we strongly recommend testing all hotkey configurations in simulation mode before live deployment to avoid unintended trades.
Which operating systems are supported?
ST Hotkey Trader™ is built for Windows, as Sierra Chart runs natively on Windows. It may work on macOS or Linux using virtualization (e.g. Parallels, Wine), but we do not support non-Windows environments.

A subscription is valid for one machine. If you need access on multiple computers, contact us to arrange a multi-license setup.
Is ST Hotkey Trader™ suitable for scalping or high-frequency trading?
Yes. It is optimized for speed and low-latency order execution, making it highly suitable for scalping and other fast trading strategies.
Does ST Hotkey Trader™ include built-in risk management features?
Yes. While core account-level risk settings should be managed through Sierra Chart or your broker, ST Hotkey Trader™ includes powerful trader-level risk controls, such as:
- Stop loss order submission and modification via hotkey
- Panic button to instantly flatten all positions and cancel orders across all accounts
- Break-even button to move stops to entry price
- Auto break-even function that adjusts stops automatically after a defined profit
- Maximum position size limiter to block trades that exceed your pre-set exposure
These features help you manage trade-level risk in real time, directly from your keyboard.
What happens if Sierra Chart or my data feed disconnects during use?
ST Hotkey Trader™ relies on Sierra Chart’s live connection. If the platform disconnects, your hotkey actions may not be executed. Always monitor your system connection status and test recovery procedures in simulation mode.
Can I get help designing a custom hotkey layout?
Yes. We offer personalized setup support and can help you design a layout that fits your trading style - whether you're porting over an existing system or building one from scratch.
Are future updates included in my subscription?
Yes. All updates, improvements, and new features released during your active subscription are included at no extra cost.
This is exactly why we use a subscription model - it ensures you benefit from ongoing development, continuous refinement, and prompt support.
Can I use it for trading stocks?
Yes. ST Hotkey Trader™ works for stocks, futures, and other instruments supported by Sierra Chart.
Does it work with my broker?
Yes. ST Hotkey Trader™ is broker-agnostic. If Sierra Chart supports your broker, then ST Hotkey Trader™ will work with your broker through the Sierra Chart platform.
Can I trade stock baskets using Interactive Brokers?
Yes. You can configure ST Hotkey Trader™ so that one key press executes orders across multiple instruments, allowing for basket-style trading, including with Interactive Brokers.
Can I use it for spread trading?
Yes. ST Hotkey Trader™ can be configured for spread trading, though it is not specifically designed for it. Many users implement custom setups for pairs or spread strategies.
Can I connect more than one sender to the Connection Manager?
Yes, you can. However, the use case for multiple senders is uncommon. Most users configure one sender with multiple receivers to manage multiple charts or instruments simultaneously.
Can I connect multiple receivers to the Connection Manager?
Yes, absolutely. This is a common use case. A single sender can be connected to multiple receivers, enabling hotkey trading across several charts, symbols, or markets at once.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Currently, we do not offer a money-back guarantee. We recommend reviewing the demo materials and documentation before purchasing to ensure it fits your needs.
Is the use of this software risky?
ST Hotkey Trader™ gives you powerful control over trade execution. You must know what you’re doing, as hotkey trading is extremely fast. Emotional state control is particularly important — trading in a “tilt” state (a brain chemical imbalance triggered by frustration or loss) can lead to uninhibited overtrading using the fast and effortless execution the software provides.
That said, the software itself is not inherently risky. You remain in full control and can always manage or close positions manually through Sierra Chart.
Does it interface with a broker API directly?
No. ST Hotkey Trader™ does not connect to broker APIs directly. It interfaces exclusively through Sierra Chart, which handles all broker and data feed connections.
Is it compatible with crypto?
Yes. If your crypto exchange is supported by Sierra Chart (for example, Binance or BitMEX), then ST Hotkey Trader™ can be used for trading cryptocurrencies.
Are there any fees for trade volume?
No. ST Hotkey Trader™ does not charge any fees based on trade volume. Your only cost is the subscription fee.
Can I use it for copy trading?
Yes. ST Hotkey Trader™ supports copy trading by allowing multiple receivers to connect to the Connection Manager. This enables trades to be executed in parallel on multiple machines, whether on a local network or remote networks such as VPS.
This is especially useful if you want to mirror the same trades across multiple accounts with different brokerages.
